Poplar Springs bestows Summa Cum Laude Honors on six seniors

Poplar Springs High School recently announced their top honor students in the Class of 2024. PSHS uses the Cum Laude Honor System over the traditional Valedictorian/Salutatorian system. Eight seniors were awarded the Summa Cum Laude title for being a top honor student at PSHS and graduating with a GPA above 4.25. The following students were given this honor:

• Noah Scot Abbott is the son of Gary and Tammy Abbott. While at Poplar Springs Noah also participated in FFA and Senior Beta. After graduation he plans to continue in the workforce as a business owner and entrepreneur.

• Macey Loretta Lori is the daughter of Williams and Tracy Lori. Macey excelled academically while also working during her high school career. She plans to continue her education by going to college after graduation.

• Ceianna Marie Mayo is the daughter of Cindy Mayo and Donnie Mayo. She is a member of the Lady Atomics Basketball Team. Her plans after graduation include attending Chipola College to major in Civil Engineering.

• Tristan Blake Morua is the son of Mary Jane Ward. He excelled academically at Poplar Springs while also working. His future plans include going to the University of West Florida to participate in the University’s ROTC program.

• Emma Marie Peters is the daughter of Rod and Amy Peters. While at Poplar Springs Emma participated in weightlifting. Her future plans include attending Welch College in Tennessee with the ultimate goal to go into the medical field. She finished, “Go Atomics!”

• Kamden Zayne Williams is the son of Ginger Williams and Clint Williams. While at Poplar Springs he was a member of Senior Beta Club and his future plans include majoring in Biology.
