Graceville business Mattox Studios recently traveled to this year’s HS Senior And Youth Sports National Conference (SYNC) in Orlando, Florida. The event took place at the end of February and is known as the “ultimate gathering for passionate photographers”.
Mattox Studios in Graceville is owned by husband-and-wife duo Josh and Ashley Mattox. The two work together to create beautiful, memorable photos for all types of clients, but their specialty is high school seniors. Mattox Studios has made a name in the North Florida region as one of the best Senior photographers and experience with high school seniors from all over the Panhandle area vying for a senior photo shoot with Mattox and many even applying to be a model for the studio their senior year.
In recent years, Mattox Studios has become a known name at the annual SYNC Trade Show and Conference. The Studio won more than half a dozen awards at the conference in 2022 and has continued to bring back awards every year since. This year Mattox Studios was excited to have eight of its photos receive Awards of Excellence. While most of the photos were from Mattox Studio’s senior shoots, one of the award-winning photos included a picturesque wedding day photo.
In an interview from 2022, owner and photographer Josh Mattox commented on his family’s love of the photography industry stating, “I had known since I was 15 years old that I wanted to be a photographer.” He continued, “Ashley … grew up in the industry” adding that when Ashley’s previous job left the area the duo “still wanted to be at all the kids ball games and stuff like that so we wanted our schedule to be really flexible …” so they decided to give a work partnership a try, with Josh smiling that it had worked out pretty well.
