Graceville’s Lady Tigers are continuing on their hot winning streak holding a 18-1 record as of Friday, January 26. The team took their first loss in December against the Rutherford Rams, but since that December 14 game, the Lady Tigers have been taking wins in and out of town.
The team started 2024 off hosting the Cottonwood Bears taking the “W” with a final score of 56 to 45. The team followed the game by hosting fellow Jackson County team Marianna’s Lady Bulldogs caging the dogs early on with a winning score of 61 to 28. The Lady Tigers hosted their third game of the year on January 11 against the Chipley Tigers. The catfight didn’t last long with Graceville dominating with a final score of 36 to 20.
The team then traveled to other side of town to take on the Poplar Springs Lady Atomics. The Graceville Tigers detonated on the court blowing past the Lady Atomics with a final score of 49 to 17. The Lady Tigers then hosted the Geneva Panthers for a nail-biting game on January 18. While nerves were on edge, Graceville brought out another win with a final score of 42 to 37 against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Tigers then traveled to Bonifay to take on the Holmes County Lady Blue Devils. The Lady Tigers extinguished the Holmes County team with a final score of 64 to 44.
Graceville traveled to Malone Tuesday, January 22, taking a district win 41 to 19. They then traveled to Marianna tonight Thursday, January 25 to take on the Lady Bulldogs beating the Marianna team 57 to 20. Graceville will then finish out their season hosting Bethlehem on Tuesday, January 30 at 6:30 PM, which will include Senior Night for the graduating Lady Tigers and a final regular season game against Rutherford on February 1 with Graceville hosting. That game is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM.
